This is my moms very simple recipe for Aloo ki Sabzi (Potato Sabzi). It can be eaten with Dinner Rolls (Pav), roti or also as a side dish with rice. My sister and I both love this preparation and I remember my mom making it for us very often when we were small. Now my hubby and daughter also like it a lot, so I make it very often.
Here is the step by step Aloo ki Sabzi recipe with pictures:
Serves: 2-3
Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 10 minutes
Ingredients:
Potatoes: 4 small peeled and chopped
Tomato: 1 chopped
Onion: 1 finely chopped
Green Chillies: 2 slit vertically
Garlic: 3-4 cloves finely chopped
Turmeric Powder: 1/2 tsp
Garam Masala: 1/2 tsp
Coriander: 2 tbsp finely chopped
Salt: to taste
Oil: 1 tbsp
Method of Preparation:
- Heat oil in a pan. Add onion, garlic, green chillies and sauté till translucent.
- Add tomato and sauté for 2-3 minutes.
- Add potatoes, 1/2 cup water and close lid.
- Once potato cooks, add turmeric powder, garam masala and salt and mix well.
- Garnish with coriander.
