Baked French Fries is the healthier version of the traditional french fries which we all love 🙂
I do not like giving too much junk food to my 3 year old and hence come up with healthier versions of the ‘junk food’ or less healthier food 🙂 For e.g I make wheat flour and jaggery based cookies for her to replace the maida and sugar ones. Similarly I make whole wheat pancakes instead of maida ones. Also recently I posted a recipe for whole wheat flour pizza to replace the all purpose flour one.
My daughter has recently developed a love for French Fries and every time we pass by a fast food joint near my house, she wants us to buy fries for her. To think of it, I have never come across any person who does not love french fries. Whether it is kids or oldies, no one can stay away from these crispy potatoes.
French Fries are considered as junk. When I think over it, potatoes are healthy. So what is it which makes fries unhealthy? I think it is the deep frying in oil and re-using the same oil over and over again. I now started wondering how good it would be to make fries for my daughter at home without too much oil. I considering the option of baking and finally tried these baked french fries at home this weekend. They turned out delicious and soon I was ready preparing another batch. You can also eat them with sprinkled cheese or garlic if you like it that way.
Now we can gorge on French fries totally guilt free. And I do not need to worry about my daughter eating the unhealthy french fries which are served at restaurants and fast food joints. I am luvin it 🙂
