Crunchy Paneer Pakodas with a hot cup of masala chai are just the things you need at the end of a tiring day. These pakoras are very easy to make, use simple ingredients and get ready very quickly.
Since the time I first made these paneer pakoras, I have made them several times and they have been loved by all. They serve as an excellent snack and tiffin box option too.
Here is the step by step recipe for Paneer Pakora with pictures:
Serves: 3-4
Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 15 minutes
Ingredients:
Cottage Cheese (Paneer): 250 gms
Chickpea Flour (Besan): 1/2 cup
Garlic paste: 1 tsp
Ginger Paste: 1 tsp
Chili Powder: 1/2 – 1 tsp
Turmeric Powder: 1/4 tsp
Soda Bicarbonate: A pinch
Salt: to taste
Oil: to deep fry
Cornflakes (crushed): As required for deep frying
Method of Preparation:
- Mix together the besan, ginger paste, garlic paste, chili powder, turmeric powder, salt and soda bicarbonate. Add a little water and mix well to form a thick batter.
- Cut the paneer into small cubes.
- Dip each paneer piece in the besan batter and then roll it in the cornflakes. Deep fry the paneer pakora till golden brown. I served these pakoras with tomato ketchup. If you like chutney more, you can serve it with that.
