Dahi Poha or Dhayatle Fov is a Goan Poha recipe in which poha is mixed with yogurt and tempered with some spices. It is commonly made on the occasion of Diwali.
In Goa, for Diwali a variety of poha are made: Dudhatle Fov – Poha Kheer, Batat Fov – Aloo Poha, Rosatle fov (Poha cooked in coconut milk), Dhayatle Fov (Dahi Poha)
Though my mom makes a variety of pohas and other delicacies for Diwali, she does not make Dahi Poha. When I got married, I first tasted Dahi Poha made by my mother-in-law and loved it instantly. Since then, it has been a favorite for me. My husband is not much of a curd eater, so he avoids Dahi Poha. However my daughter loves curd and any dish with curd. So I usually end up making dahi poha for me and my daughter on the occasion of Diwali.
Dahi Poha is quite easy to make and gets ready quite fast. Also, it requires very simple ingredients.
