Hummus is a delicious dip made from chickpeas, tahini, lemon, and spices. It is a popular dish in the Middle East where I live and has been a favorite in my house since we shifted base to Bahrain.
Ingredients
  • Boiled Chickpeas: 1.5 cups
  • Lemon Juice: ¼ cup
  • Tahini: ¼ cup
  • Garlic: 2 cloves
  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil: 2 tbsp + extra for serving
  • Cumin Powder: ½ tsp
  • Salt: to taste
  • Ice Cold water: ¼ cup
  • Paprika: ¼ tsp (for serving)
Instructions
  1. Add all the ingredients except for paprika to the blender and blend on high till smooth and creamy. Time and again, open the blender and scrap the sides and push them down again so that it is well blended.
  2. Add more ice cold liquid if required to get the desired consistency.
  3. Serve drizzled with olive oil and paprika.
