A very simple Grilled Fish recipe which uses a coriander-green chilly marinade. It can be served as an appetizer or as a part of main course. Either ways, it is sure to be a hit.
This has been a long pending post. I made Grilled Fish and Spicy Beer Prawns last weekend, however did not find time to post the recipe for Grilled Fish.
Here is the step by step Grilled Fish recipe with pictures:
Serves: 3-4
Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Marination Time: 30 minutes
Cooking Time: 40 minutes
Ingredients:
Kingfish steaks: 500 gm
Ginger: 1 inch piece
Garlic: 12 cloves
Green Chilies: 2
Coriander Leaves: 1/4 cup chopped
Lemon juice: 2 tsp
Vegetable Oil: 3 tbsp
Salt: to taste
Chili Powder: 3 tsp
Turmeric Powder: 1/2 tsp
Garam Masala: 1/2 tsp
Semolina: As required
Method of Preparation:
- Grind the ginger, garlic, coriander, green chilies and lemon juice into a paste.
- Mix together this paste with oil, salt, chili powder, turmeric powder and garam masala.
- Rub this mixture all over the fish. Cover and marinate in fridge for 1/2 hour.
- Pre-heat oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
- Sprinkle the fish with semolina. Place the fish steaks on the grill plate and let cook for 40 minutes, turning in between. Fish will appear brown and cooked.
Note: Time required to grill fish might vary based on the type of oven used.
