Hummus is a delicious dip made from chickpeas, tahini, lemon, and spices. It is a popular dish in the Middle East where I live and has been a favorite in my house since we shifted base to Bahrain.
It tastes very good as a dip with the local bread here, and also when paired with falafel or kebabs. We often order hummus home from restaurants, but after trying to make it at home and my girls enjoying it more than the restaurant one, I am sure I will now be making this regularly. My kids love to eat the hummus by using it as a dip with cucumber and carrot strips; it is prefect as a side snack in their lunch box.
