Onion Pakodas or Kanda Bhajiya are fritters made of onion and gram flour. These pakodas are a very popular street food in India.
One thing I miss most in Bahrain is the rains in India, particularly Goa. The smell of the mud after the first rain, the greenery all around, how I wish it would rain like that in Bahrain. However, here there is no rainy season. There are occasional showers usually associated with the change in season.
When I think about rain, apart from the smell of mud, greenery, cool breeze, there is something else which comes to my mind – A hot cup masala chai with a plate of hot crispy Kanda Bhajiyas or Onion Pakodas. Onion Pakoda is nothing but a deep fried snack (fritter) which is very popular in India.
Last week, there were a few showers in Bahrain and of course it was a must to make Onion Pakodas. We had a great time enjoying the onion pakoda and tea in the balcony watching it rain… 🙂
