Methi bhaji is a very simple sabzi which can be eaten with rotis or as a side dish with rice.
Usually whenever I bring methi at home, I make methi parathas or methi appe. I learnt this recipe of methi bhaji from my mom and loved it so much that I am sure it would become a regular in my house now.
Here is the step by step recipe for Methi Bhaji with pictures:
Serves: 2-3
Preparation Time: 15 minutes
Cooking Time: 15 minutes
Ingredients:
Methi: 1 bunch cleaned and chopped finely.
Garlic: 4-5 cloves crushed
Onion: 1 big finely chopped
Tomato: 1 medium finely chopped
Green chili: 1 big slit vertically
Grated Coconut: 1 tsp
Jaggery: 2 tbsp
Turmeric Powder: 1/2 tsp
Salt: to taste
Method of Preparation:
- In a pan, heat oil and stir fry the onion and green chili till onion is translucent.
- Add turmeric powder and mix well.
- Add tomato and salt and stir fry till soft.
- Add methi leaves and mix well. Close lid and let cook till methi is cooked.
- Add coconut and jaggery and mix well. Cook for 1-2 minutes.
- In a separate tadka pan, heat oil and stir fry the crushed garlic till brown. Add garlic to the methi bhaji.
