Mustard Prawns is a prawns appetizer recipe which has a distinct flavor brought about by the freshly ground mustard powder added to it.
A few days back, I was thinking of a new recipe to try with Prawns. I remembered that I had read a Sanjeev Kapoor recipe for Garlic Mustard prawns some time back and decided to try something similar. This dish has a distinct mustard flavor, so for mustard lovers, it is a must try. You can vary the quantity of mustard powder based on your taste. For me, the quantity added in this recipe was just perfect, but I like the flavor brought about by mustard. But my husband could have done with a little less flavor. So you can decide how much mustard powder you want to add.
Here is the step by step Mustard Prawns recipe with pictures:
Serves: 2-3
Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 15 minutes
Ingredients:
Prawns: 20 medium sized (shelled and deveined)
Spring Onions: 2 finely chopped
Garlic: 8 cloves chopped
Butter: 2 tbsp
Tomato Ketchup: 3 tbsp
Mustard (coarsely powdered): 2 tbsp
Cream: 3 tbsp
Pepper Powder: 1/4 tsp
Salt: to taste
Method of Preparation:
- Chop one of the spring onion greens and keep aside.
- In a pan, heat butter. Add spring onions, garlic and saute.
- Add mustard powder, mix well and saute.
- Add prawns, cream and mix well.
- Add ketchup, pepper powder and salt and mix well.
- Cook till prawns are cooked.
- Garnish with spring onion greens.
