Paddu or Rice appe is a common breakfast item in South India. They are small round crispy balls which are made up of rice and dal and are quite healthy and easy to prepare.
This is my sisters recipe for traditional Paddu or Rice Appe. It tastes best with coconut coriander chutney. I made it for the first time today for breakfast and my family loved it. I am sure it would figure in my breakfast menu quite often from now on.

My daughter has always loved South Indian breakfast items be it idli, dosa or appe. Apart from the regular traditional versions of these recipes, I also time and again try some variations. Some which I have tried and have also been liked by our readers are: Dill Leaves Dosa, Sweet Appe, Corn Appe, Hot and Sour Idli.
