Poha Kheer is a very easy and quick to make Indian sweet. It is commonly made in Goa on the occasion of Diwali, but is also served for breakfast very often. Poha kheer is called as Dudatle Fov in Goa.
When I was a kid, I was not very fond of aloo poha. So whenever my mom would make aloo poha for breakfast, she would specially make dudatle fov for me.
In Goa, on the occasion of Diwali, many different varieties of poha are made, the most common ones being Dudatle Fov (Poha Kheer), Rosatle Fov (Poha cooked in coconut milk), Dhayatle Fov (Dahi Poha) and Batat Fov (Aloo Poha). Being away from Goa, I try my best to make all the different poha varieties. Diwali does not seem like Diwali unless these delicious poha dishes are prepared.
Poha Kheer is very healthy and requires only 3 easily available ingredients. And it is such a quick recipe, gets ready in hardly 10 minutes.
