Lassi is a popular, traditional yoghurt based drink which is very famous in India. A chilled glass of lassi flavored with saffron and cardamom is a perfect drink on a hot summer day.
When I was small, I was never very fond of this drink. However, now I love it. Since the time I first made it, I have repeated it many times and everyone in the family has loved it.
Here is the step by step recipe for lassi with pictures:
Makes: 3 servings
Preparation Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients:
Yoghurt: 2 cups
Chilled Milk: 3/4 cup
Chilled Water: 3/4 cup
Sugar: 6-7 tbsp
Cardamom Powder: 1/4 tsp
Salt: A pinch
Almonds: 1-2
Saffron: A few strands
Method of Preparation:
- Take yoghurt in a bowl and beat it well till it becomes smooth.
- Add milk and water and beat well.
- Add sugar, cardamom powder and salt and blend the entire contents in a blender.
- Pour the lassi in tall glasses.
- Garnish with saffron, finely sliced almonds and cardamom powder.
